Your guide to The Paramount-Era Full Moon Movies

In 1989, Full Moon Entertainment, started by Charles Band, who also created Empire Pictures, released Puppet Master, which spawned several sequels, and several DTV movies from Full Moon released through Paramount until 1995 or whenever. Band also created Moonbeam for kids fare and TorchLight for Late-Night Fare. The first 4 movies (Puppet Master, Shadowzone, Meridian, and Crash and Burn) had behind-the-scenes featurettes after the movie. Puppet Master 2-Trancers 5 as well as Prehysteria!, Remote, Dragonworld, Prehysteria! 2, and the first 2 Torchlight titles all had Videozones (Behind the Scenes Video Magazines that aired right after the movie). These movies have now been OOP, and Paramount forced a discontinuation on a Puppet Master Boxset released by Full Moon in 2000, and it goes up to about $300 on eBay. Now if Paramount, who obviously have rights, would just release these titles onto DVD:
Puppet Master 1-5 (1989-94)
Shadowzone (1990)
Merdian (1990)
Crash and Burn (1990)
The Pit and the Pendulum (1991)
Subspecies 1-3 (1991-94)
Trancers 2-5 (1991-94)
Dollman (1991)
Netherworld (1992)
Demonic Toys (1992)
Seedpeople (1992)
Bad Channels (1992)
Doctor Mordrid (1992)
Robot Wars (1993)
Prehysteria! 1-3 (1993-95)
Mandroid (1993)
Remote (1993)
Dollman vs. Demonic Toys (1993)
Beach Babes from Beyond (1993)
Arcade (1994)
Invisible (1994)
Lurking Fear (1994)
Test Tube Teens from the Year 2000 (1994)
Dragonworld (1994)
Dark Angel: The Ascent (1994)
Shrunken Heads (1994)
Oblivion (1994)
Beanstalk (1994)
Pet Shop (1995)
Leapin' Leprechauns (1995)
Magic Island (1995)
Magic in the Mirror (1996)
Spellbreaker: Secret of the Leprechauns (1996)
Magic in the Mirror Fowl Play (1997)

Those would be selling like hotcakes. It's just sad that Paramiunt does not give a damn about these titles. And already bootlegs have been showing up on eBay and even Full Moon's own website (Those on Full Moon, including the crap Australian Boxsets might not be bootlegs to you, but they sure are to me!) And they certainly are keeping their grudge against CB for absolutley no reason at all. And that is no way to run a company. Here I'm gonna show you what has bene released on DVD, and what has not, as well as recent airings. Enjoy! Oh by the way, I'd like to thank Terror Obscura: A Buyer's Guide to Empire International Pictures on DVD for infleuncing me to do this.

1989:

Puppet Master: The King! A DVD was Orignally released as part of a Puppet Master Boxset along with the other 5 and The Crap Non-Paramount sequels. The boxset also included a Trailer Reel Disc. Paramount forced Full Moon to discontinue the boxset because they still had rights to 1-5. In 2002, another DVD was released by Prism Leisure in the UK. Just like the Trancers DVD they released, the quality is presumebly a VHS or Laserdisc transfer. The movie often airs on either AMC or Fuse, as well as Monsters HD in a Widescreen Format, along with 2-5. Spainish Import DVDs of 1, 2, and 3 were also sold on FullMoonDirect.com.

1990:

Shadowzone: Was released by Full Moon in 2000, until just like with the Puppet Master boxset, Paramount forced the DVD to be discontinued. Like with PM 1-5, Paramount still had rights to Shadowzone. A new DVD, which is presumebly the same transfer as the old one, was released along with the Full Moon Classics Volume 1 opposite Netherworld, Seedpeople, Bad Channels, and Arcade. A DVD was also released in 2002 in the UK.

Meridian: Released as part of The Charles Band Boxset on FullMoonDirect.com. Was also released on DVD under the name Phantoms in the UK.

Crash and Burn: Previously released by Full Moon in 2000, until like with Shadowzone and the PM Boxset, Paramount still had distribution rights, so it ended up being discontinued. However, a new DVD was released as part of The Charles Band Boxset opposite Meridain, Doctor Mordrid, and The Non-Paramount Title, Head of the Family. A DVD was also released in the UK.

1991:

Puppet Master II: Was originally released as part of The Puppet Master Boxset. A Mexican Import DVD also turned up on FullMoonDirect.com. Was also released on DVD in the UK.

The Pit and The Pendulum: Was originally released on DVD in 2000. A new DVD was released as part of The Stuart Gordon Collection opposite The Non-Paramount Titles Castle Freak and Deathbed. Was also released on DVD in the UK. Rumor has it another DVD release came under the name, The Inquistor. A DVD copy of the Unrated Version has yet to be found or released by Paramount.

Subspecies: Released as part of the crap Subspecies Boxset from FullMoonDirect.com opposite the first 2 sequels and the Non-Paramount titles Vampire Journals and Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm. A so-so Mexican Import DVD was released as well. Often airs on Monsters HD, along with its sequel Bloodstone: Subspecies II.

Trancers II: Released as part of the Trancers Boxset by FullMoonDirect.com opposite 3-5. A Mexican Import DVD also turned up on the website. Was also released on DVD in the UK w/o the Videozone. Presumebly The Boxset and UK DVDs are presumebly LD or VHS transfers.

Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge: Was released as part of the Puppet Master Boxset. A Mexican Import DVD later turned up. Boxset DVD is apparently a LD or VHS Transfer.

Dollman: Was released as part of The Dollman/Demonic Toys Boxset. A Plain Vanilla DVD also turned up in the UK. Apparently both DVDs are LD or VHS Transfers.

1992:

Netherworld: Was released by Full Moon in 2000. For some reason, Paramount has yet to take legal action as well as release an official DVD. Goes for real cheap on eBay. Full Moon released a new DVD as part of Full Moon Classics Volume 1 opposite Shadowzone, Seedpeople, Bad Channels and Arcade. Both are obviously VHS Transfers.

Demonic Toys: Released as part of The Dollman/Demonic Toys Boxset opposite Dollman and Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, and before that, FullMoonDirect.com released a Mexican Import DVD Copy of the Movie. Has also been released on DVD in the UK and in Germany by X-Rated Kultivideo.

Seedpeople: Released as part of the Full Moon Classics Volume 1 Boxset. Also released on DVD in Germany under another name, Dark Forest I think it was.

Bad Channels: Released as part of the Full Moon Classics Volume 1 Boxset. Thats all I know so far, except the fact that this is My favorite Full Moon Movie. This was also the first Full Moon Movie I ever bought online.

Doctor Mordrid: Released as part of the Charles Band Boxset. Thats all I know.

Trancers III: My favorite in the Trancers series. Released as part of the Trancers Boxset. A Mexican Import DVD also turned up on FullMoonDirect.com.

1993:

Robot Wars: The first Full Moon Movie I ever bought. I've been hearing about a Japanese DVD, but I don't know for sure.

Bloodstone: Subspecies II: Released as part of the Crap Subspecies Boxset from FullMoonDirect.com. A Mexican Import DVD has also turned up.

Mandroid: No DVD release yet.

Remote: No DVD release yet.

Dollman vs. Demonic Toys: Released as part of the Dollman/Demonic Toys Boxset. Thats all I know.

Puppet Master 4: Was released as part of the Puppet Master Boxset. This is my favorite in the Puppet Master Series. Has been shown on Monsters HD.

Beach Babes from Beyond: A DVD has been released in Italy, but in unremastered form. The only bonus features on that are bios and the trailer. The artwork is also that for the sequel. The Racier, Unrated Version has been seen on Skinemax though.

1994:

Trancers 4: Jack of Swords: Released as part of the Trancers Boxset. Thats All I Know.

Bloodlust: Subspecies III: Released as part of the Crap Subspecies Boxset. Thats all I know.

Arcade: Released as part of the Full Moon Classics Volume 1 Boxset. Thats all I know.

Invisible: No DVD release yet.

Lurking Fear: Has been released on DVD in Germany by X-Rated Kultivideo.

Test Tube Teens from the Year 2000: No sign of this film (a.k.a Virgin Hunters) on DVD anywhere.

Dragonworld: No DVD release yet.

Dark Angel: The Ascent: No DVD release yet.

Puppet Master 5: Was released as part of The Puppet Master Boxset. Thats all I know.

Shrunken Heads: No DVD release yet.

Trancers 5: Was released as part of The Trancers Boxset. Thats all I know.

Prehysteria! 2: No DVD release yet.

Oblivion: A DVD was released by Artisan in 2002. For some reason, The DVD has been discontinued.

Beanstalk: No DVD release yet.

1995:

Pet Shop: No DVD release yet.

Leapin' Leprechauns: No DVD release yet.

Prehysteria! 3: No DVD release yet. My favorite in the Prehysteria! Series.

Magic Island: No DVD release yet.

1996:

Magic in the Mirror: No DVD release yet.

Spellbreaker: Secret of the Leprechauns: No DVD release yet.
